Kid 3 decided she wanted her ears pierced. The tech didn't get one of the holes straight, so we were told to take the earring out and come back in a few days. At that point, the ear that was pierced swelled to about three times the normal size. We took Kid 3 to the doctor and got some antibiotics, then went back to the store for Take Two.
Believe it or not, they messed up the piercing again! (different girl). A few days later we tried for the third time. This time I had called ahead to confirm the manager was there and we had her do the deed. Success!! Finally!! Poor Kid 3. I felt so bad for her.
In the last couple months, between our three vehicles, we've spent nearly $2000 dollars on car repairs. Yesterday the warning light for the ABS system on the van came on again--that was one of the repairs we had done just last week. We dropped off the van again this morning. Still waiting to see what this will cost us. Darned cars are killing us!
This week is midterms. I signed up for a 1 credit business class in January, thinking I would ease my way into taking some business courses.
It is the most time consuming 1 credit class ever!
I am currently studying for a definition test of 50+ terms and trying to finish up a 12 page document that includes my resume, an essay on a Career Assessment (it took nearly 1.5 hours just to take the assessment), an essay on 16 chapters of a book, essays on five talks, and essays on five who-are-you type questions.
We had to create a LinkedIn profile for class. I'm not currently job hunting, but they tell me I should try to create connections anyway. I guess it's a good idea. Things can happen quite unexpectedly, so this way I'll be prepared.
The BYUI alumni office offers free professional pictures so that you'll have a nice photo for your LinkedIn site. I decided to take advantage of that service. My problem was I spent the morning working the horses, so I had major flat hat/helmet hair when I got back to the house. I did my best to repair the damage before going up to the school, but I still see all the weird sticky-outie hair when I look at the pic. Sigh. Oh well.
Here is something fun. Kid 1 and Kid 2 have friends taking the high school photography class. A few weeks ago they both participated in a photo shoot done by those friends. Kid 1 did all the make-up.
