Last Saturday, while Kid 1 and I were on our ride, Stable Boy took the other kids fishing. They happened to drive past a crowd of people jumping off the Fun Farm bridge north of St. Anthony. As luck would have it, one of Stable Boy's buddies was part of that group. That was all it took. He decided then and there that we were going bridge jumping for our Monday Family Home Evening.
I, along with some of my more sane children, opted out. But Stable Boy, Kid 2 and a couple of friends repeatedly launched themselves into thin air.
Afterward, Stable Boy described the experience like getting a 710 psi nasal enema. His body structure is so dense that he sinks like a rock under normal circumstances, so instead of plugging his nose, he kept his arms outstretched so he wouldn't hit the river bottom. His sinuses were so congested afterwards that he hardly slept at all Monday night. I, on the other hand, had a great night's sleep since he very politely took his restless self down to the sofa.
