The BLM offers a program for 4-Her's to work with a weanling or yearling mustang for 6-8 weeks. At the end of that time, the BLM hosts an auction adoption in conjunction with another horse-related event. Proceeds above the BLM's fee go to the 4-H horse club that trained the mustang.
Kid 1 and Kid 3 both want to participate in this program, so I finally caved last week and submitted my application to be a 4-H horse leader (I've been asked to do this in the past, but felt like I couldn't justify the time commitment.) If my girls are going to do this, I would like to be the one supervising them.
