We are nearing the end of the dreaded 2-weeks-of-gluten-free diet. Kid 1 was still having severe stomach pain this week, so I'm not sure that gluten-free is the answer. I'm kind of at a loss as to how to help her. Sigh.
Kid 2 started track at the junior high this week. Kind of weird--she's our only kid that has expressed an interest in running. (Where did I go wrong?) Her bad ankles are sore, but seem to be holding up so far. She's been complaining more about having IT band pain.
D.A.R.E. graduation was Wednesday night at 7 pm for Kid 3. The Relief Society birthday dinner was scheduled for 6 pm at the church. I thought, "Great, I won't have to cook. I'll feed everyone else leftovers and I'll go get a good meal!"
Did NOT happen!
They had presenters scheduled prior to serving the food. The last lady was still talking when I had to leave to go to D.A.R.E. I sat through 1.5 hours of D.A.R.E. graduation with my stomach growling! On the plus side, organizers decided for the first time ever to not announce and hand out diplomas to all 450 students as part of the evening. Thank you! The kids did a great job with the D.A.R.E. song in spite of the technical glitch of having to music to sing to since their teacher forgot to bring the CD. Three D.A.R.E. graduations down: one to go!
Kid 4 started wrestling practice. He and Stable Boy are heading out the door right now to go to his first tournament of the year.
Tonight is The Big Kahuna, a dance and game lock-in at the junior high. Kid 2 is excited to be going. I get to be there, too, only I get to help sell pizza, homemade root beer, and candy leis (which we assembled yesterday afternoon) as another fundraiser for the Washington DC trip. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to get 23 boxes of Little Caesars from my car into the school. Should be interesting!
I'll try to make a more detailed horse post tomorrow if I have time. For now--I de-wormed every one today. Both horses are showing good improvement in their training.
