Maybe it's due to lack of sleep. One of the new baby goats seemed really lethargic yesterday. We brought him inside and set up the dog kennel for him last night. I'm not sure he would have made it through the night otherwise. Kid 1, Stable Boy and I took turns getting up every 2 hours. I had the 1 am shift, but it seemed like I was awake all night.
Kid 1 took the 11pm & 3 am shifts, which normally I wouldn't have allowed since it's a school night, but she doesn't have school today. Something about the juniors taking the SAT today, so all the other students get the day off. What's the deal with that anyway? I seem to remember having to plan around my running competition schedule and give up a Saturday to take the ACT. Now the whole school shuts down to allow the students to take the test during the week? Maybe it's part of the push to get more Idahoans to pursue post-secondary education.
Anyway, the goat will take several swallows from the bottle and then turn away. He hasn't relieved himself at all since coming into the house. This morning we resorted to force feeding him with a syringe. I hope he makes it.
