I've tried really hard to be grateful for my little 2-horse trailer, but there have been so many times when I have been frustrated by it's limitations, both personally and professionally. Like when I have to make two trips to the arena to bring all the horses. Or last year when we had seven horses on the place. Or when I spend hours teaching a new horse (especially one that loads just fine in a big trailer) to be comfortable loading in my tiny trailer. Or when I can only take one of my kids on a trail ride. Or when I take two kids on a trail ride and I have to jog--oh, wait, that's probably a good thing so I work off some of my belly. Anyway, you get the picture.
I had hoped to have a large trailer before this point, but building the barn (lust item #2) temporarily derailed those plans. Then yesterday, I saw a steal of a deal on Craigslist and I jumped on it. It's not exactly my dream trailer (no walk-in tack room and it's set up to be a straight-load 4 horse), but the price combined with the overall condition of the trailer couldn't be beat.
Also, I think if I take out the interior partitions, I could fit 5-6 horses on a slant (depending on their size).
I heard a jewelry store ad on the radio the other day informing men that 'what she really wants and deserves is a diamond necklace.' Not me! I'm so pumped about my new trailer! What a great Christmas present!
