Zeus came for some training in part because his owner was having trouble getting him to trot and lope. I was able to get him up to speed, but he definitely had an attitude about it! Thankfully, he started to mellow out before he went home.
With some continued work and wet saddle blankets, I think he will be a good horse.
Disneyland
I've never been to Disneyland and I have to admit that I was one of those cynics who viewed it as an overpriced extravagance. I really enjoy our hiking and riding trips to the mountains and had no interest in a Disney vacation. However, the kids were super excited about the idea and Disney offered a discount for the tickets through the dance company, so I was outvoted.
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the whole experience. While I'm still sure Disney makes a great deal of money, I also recognized the incredible amount of money they must need to operate the place. The grounds were beautiful and the many of rides and entertainment were elaborate and had an incredible amount of detail. That was one of the things I found most impressive. There were also tons of employees--it takes a small army to keep the place pristine and to operate the numerous rides, shops, and entertainment options. Kid 1 described the park as overpriced but super fun and very family orientated.
We had a great time and I can see us going again when Kid 3's dance company performs there again in a couple years.
