Week 2 had a lot of "firsts" for Xoe. Once she realized that it wasn't going to hurt if we touched her, she became very accepting of being handled. She is still a young wild horse that occasionally launches herself sideways or suddenly bolts for no apparent reason, so Kid 3 still needs to be cautious.
This week's firsts included introducing the curry comb, softening to halter pressure, facing up, rubbing all over her body with the stick, tossing the lead rope over her back, yielding the hindquarters, yielding the forequarters, introducing backing via wiggling the lead rope, leading in a spiral in her pen, and leading in a straight line to and from the barn.
