Magic did better with the ball by the end, but I think I'll use it again tomorrow.
I took Piper and Sweetheart to the indoor arena today. Sweetheart did really well for her first time being there. I hadn't done anything with a tarp till now, but she had no problems with crossing it. I was also pleased with how she just walked right into my little two horse straight load trailer. Most "trailer-broke" horses are only used to a slant load or stock horse type trailer and tend to balk at being sent into a straight load. Sweetheart did great!
I think I'm going to have to buy a smaller bit for Sweetheart, though. My 5-inch normal horse-sized bits just hang in her little mouth.
I haven't been able to spend as much time with Raven this week as I would like, but in spite of that, she is really coming along. She had been really jumpy about being touched around her flanks, so I spent the last week working a lot on touching her there suddenly and without much warning multiple times throughout each training session. Yesterday I went back to doing the Jefferies Method with her (only had time to do one side) but she was much calmer, even when I laid parallel on her back. The last time I did that she jumped out from under me. Yesterday she just stood there and looked at me.
