Ranger-focus continues on softening to pressure. He has improved a lot, but his first inclination is still to brace against pressure instead of softening. Also, he has decided that my picking up the reins means "go forward", so we spent a bunch of time today with me picking up the reins and a) going backward, b) flexing, c) just dropping them back down.
Zeus-For all that he is at the bottom of the pecking order, he sure gets snotty about being expected to do what he is asked. I think he has the typical "pasture pet" attitude. He's friendly enough, but he thinks he can ignore my cues and I'll go away. Not happening.
He was kind of shocked when I went to phase 4 and actually tapped him firmly on his hip when he was ignoring me. His expression was "I can't believe you just did that!", quickly followed by a "Now I'm mad" rear. This was followed by me backing him assertively across the field. He didn't rear any more after that.
