Ranger, a 2 year old Foxtrotter from Mackay, arrived this afternoon. He is just here for training. I don't get to keep him, but I always feel like I've gotten a gift every time I get a new horse to train. There is a sense of excitement, of possibilities...a new beginning and a chance to either get a horse started on the right path or to re-build his confidence in himself and his rider.
I already went out and played with him. He's not overly sensitive to pressure, but he seems willing to try. He was a bit anxious (pawing and nibbling at the rope and tie ring) about being tied up, but I think those behaviors will go away as his confidence increases.
In other news...Kid 2 got her braces off yesterday. Afterwards, I took her out to lunch at her favorite restaurant, Chuck-o-rama, where she had her first legal gummy bears in 2 years. Gummy bears and chocolate ice cream. Yuck.
