Let me just start by saying I did not expect to spend 1.5 hours (Stable Boy was out for close to two hours) shoveling snow this morning. I am positive the weather forecast didn't say anything about us getting 10+ inches of snow. Although shoveling wasn't in my plans this morning, with the single digit temperatures predicted for this week, I'm glad the plants and pipes have some insulating protection. Last night we attended the live nativity out in Burton. It's become an annual tradition. We try to go on opening night because they always serve soup and fresh bread prior to the 15 minute performance. My kids don't fuss too much about the cold because they know that they will get free fresh homemade donuts (yummy!) and hot chocolate at the end.I have to admit those donuts are a big draw for me too, but my favorite part is that the simple scripture & hymn based skit really helps me to focus more on Christ - the true reason for the season.I think yesterdays high winds kept the crowd away last night. I've never seen so few people there. They missed out though, because the temperature was actually warmer than it's ever been and the trees and barn blocked the wind enough that it wasn't really a factor. It was kind of pleasant. Now I'm really ready for Christmas!
