Zeus and I went jogging today...well, it actually ended up being a 2.5 hour training session with a little bit of jogging. L., he now knows how to trot along side you. He could use some refinement, but he's got the basic idea now.
We worked on transitions from trot to walk to halt to back, and vice versa. He worked on longing or the squeeze game by everything he spooked or shied at (the neighbors fence, a large rock, a mailbox, the ditch, a trailer with 4-wheelers, the street sewer, the construction at the new church and a boat lined up with several other trailers.) I also sent him over and around several large dirt piles behind the neighboring subdivision to help him learn to watch his footing. We finished off with a lot of backing to try to reinforce him staying out of my space unless invited in. Overall, I think he did pretty good today.
