The other class was Strength Training Theory and Application. It's getting harder to stay in shape as I get older, so I figured I could use some help. That bugger met for an hour 5 days a week. The upside of it is that Stable Boy teaches it, so I saw more of him this past semester than I have in years!
I took my last final yesterday. This last week has been a bit of a marathon, with a test, 3 finals and a 33-page paper. I loved both of the classes and I learned a ton, but I'm so glad to be finished! BTW- I managed to pull off A's in both classes. Yay, me!
What is ironic about that is back in January, I opted to audit both classes, which means neither one will show up on my transcript. I already have 2 degrees, so I don't need the college credit. At the time, I wanted to not have to worry about missing assignments if things got too busy with family or work. The audit thing also made it a lot less stressful to miss two weeks of classes when my Dad died in February.
I found there were two problems with auditing. One was that I really wanted to learn the material. If you don't spend the time, it's hard to retain the knowledge. The second was the darned computer tracking they do with classes now. Every assignment, every quiz, lab, or test is listed online to see every time I log into my campus account. I'm just to anal to let myself get a poor grade on something!
There was one busy weekend where Stable Boy told me to not worry about putting much effort into an assignment I was writing up for his class. I took him at his word and just wrote a few sentences about each thing and submitted it online. Stable Boy has a T.A. that does most of the grading for his class. Apparently, she didn't get the memo about not needing to write much. She gave me a 79% for not having enough detail. When I complained to Stable Boy, he laughed his head off! Seeing that grade still drives me batty.
Just call me Hermione, I guess.
