I had been talking with Jasper's owners about the possibility of purchasing him for the last month. They texted yesterday and suggested I come and get him.
I got a heck of a deal, mainly because they wanted to make sure he went to a good home (I appreciate their confidence in me!). They are getting heavily involved in showing their Paso Fino horses and are selling off all of their excess stock.
Peruvian Pasos are a breed of gaited horses that originated in-(you guessed it)-Peru. I rode Jasper briefly yesterday and even though he was tense and nervous (he hasn't been ridden for quite some time), he still had a really nice smooth gait. Once he's had a tune-up, I think he'll be a super nice ride.
Kid 3 is claiming Jasper as hers since she asked Santa for a horse for Christmas.
Stable Boy's just happy that we finally got another boy on the place. We're currently at 27 females to 5 males. Apparently he's been feeling surrounded by estrogen.
