I think it has to do with the horse. Stable Boy says that even if Jasper acts up a bit, he is still so smooth, you never get bumped out of the saddle. Also, he says that the Peruvian Paso saddle that came with Jasper is the most comfortable one we have. He even likes it better than our cushy Tucker saddle.
This was the first time we've had the chance to take Jasper out on a trail. Stable Boy felt he did better on the trail than he does in the pastures at home. I thought about taking Honey Jo to see how she would do on the trail, but felt it would probably be better to just try out one new horse at a time, so I caught Piper instead.
The pics below show me on Jasper and Stable Boy on Piper, but that is only because Stable Boy wanted me to try out Jasper on the trail and see how nice he was. Right after we took these, he insisted we switch back so he could ride his horse again.
