He then told me I would get to help "screed." He assured me, "Don't worry, honey, you'll get warmed up soon."
For those of you not in the know (like me), when you screed concrete, you take a long wood board and wiggle it back and forth across the newly poured concrete to begin to smooth it out and make sure it is all level.
Lest you think I might have missed out on this golden opportunity to screed, never fear, my sweetie stood up for me and insisted I help screed my new tack room.
