The yard got mowed twice (because it had gotten so darned tall we had to mow it in stages!), I did all the edging along the driveway, sidewalk and flower beds with my mini tiller/edger. We weeded and planted some things. We removed rocks from the extremely rocky fill dirt that we ordered when we moved the irrigation ditch and we made a border along the barn with the rocks. We raked everything smooth around the barn and I seeded it with pasture seed. We made some adjustments to the fence and removed the remnant of the plastic from the south barn door. We carted out all the shavings from the chicken coop and hosed and scrubbed down the walls. I spent an obnoxious amount of money at Valleywide on pasture seed, pine shavings, chicken & goat feed and salt blocks for the horses, goats and rabbits.
We did take time on Monday to play. We went and bummed around Jackson, WY. We hiked for about an hour at Cache Creek--very beautiful, I'd recommend it!--then made it back in time to watch the evening "Gunfight at Town Square." All in all, a very fun and relaxing day.
Today, Kid 2 is on the annual junior high trip to Lagoon. It's raining here (hopefully not in Utah!), so we're taking a break from outside work. The other two girls have friends over and Kid 4 is just hanging out.
Fun fact--Kid 1 was the 10th caller to the local radio station and won a free pizza. She's off to share her pizza with her friends. How come I don't get any???
I'll try to get an update on the horses yet today, so stay tuned!
